Chicago — The American Association of Endodontists (AAE) welcomed more than 4,600 dental professionals to Boston for its annual meeting, AAE25, held April 2–5, 2025, at the Hynes Convention Center. The event broke previous attendance records and reaffirmed its position as the premier global gathering in endodontics.
AAE25 offered continuing education across multiple formats, including lectures, workshops, and small-group sessions. Attendees explored leading-edge topics through popular tracks such as Nonsurgical Root Canal Therapy, Surgical Endodontics, Trauma and Emergencies, and Practice Management. The Endo Plus track brought a collaborative focus to the meeting by integrating disciplines like periodontics, restorative dentistry, and systemic health.
In a heartfelt speech at Thursday’s President’s Breakfast, ADA President-Elect Dr. Richard J. Rosato made one message unmistakably clear: he is committed to a strong and collaborative relationship with the American Association of Endodontists.
Dr. Rosato, who described himself as a first-generation college graduate and rural practice owner, opened his remarks by affirming his connection to AAE leadership and the broader specialty community. Drawing from personal experience and values, he used the moment to reinforce his intent to lead with humility, purpose, and partnership.
A unique panel revisited predictions made in the 2013 session “Endo in 2025,” evaluating how far the specialty has come and identifying future opportunities.
The General Session launched the event with a dynamic presentation by best-selling author and leadership coach Ryan Leak, whose message encouraged attendees to embrace growth, resilience, and purpose in their professional journeys.
The meeting also featured the Edgar D. Coolidge Awards Brunch, honoring leaders and innovators in the field. Among the recipients were Dr. Francisco Nieves (Spirit of Service New Practitioner Award), Dr. Demetrick LeCorn (Spirit of Service Career Award), Dr. Paul Abbott (Louis I. Grossman Award), Dr. Brian Mykleby (Calvin D. Torneck Part-Time Educator Award), Dr. Carla Falcon (Edward M. Osetek Educator Award), Dr. Brad Johnson (I.B. Bender Lifetime Educator Award), and Dr. Ken Hargreaves (Edgar D. Coolidge Award).
Networking and community-building remained central to the meeting experience. Events such as the Welcome Reception and Celebrate Boston! at the Boston Public Library brought attendees together in memorable ways. Throughout the week, participants engaged in district caucuses, alumni gatherings, poster discussions, and governance activities, including the General Assembly and leadership installation.
As AAE25 concluded, members looked ahead to AAE26, scheduled for April 15–18, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The success of AAE25 highlighted the ongoing strength of the endodontic community—driven by education, innovation, and a shared commitment to preserving natural teeth and improving patient care.
