CHICAGO – The Foundation for Endodontics, the philanthropic arm of the American Association of Endodontics, proudly announced Cornerstone Dental Specialties has contributed an impressive $65,000 for Resident Research Grants for 2023.
Through this grant, the Foundation provides $500 to individual endodontic residents to fund activities related to their research or educational advancement, like:
• To fund an individual resident’s research project
• To supplement a competitive research grant award
• For travel to a meeting to present research
• For travel to a board review course
• For other activities related to research
Furthermore, the grant offers the opportunity for residents who utilize the $500 directly for research, to receive an additional $500 award once the initial funding has been utilized and reported on.
“At Cornerstone Dental Specialties, we are passionate about the importance of research in endodontics and are thrilled to be able to contribute to promoting oral health and saving natural teeth,” said Tom von Sydow, COO of Cornerstone. “The Foundation’s Resident Research Grant offers a terrific amount of flexibility to support individual research projects, travel and other research-related activities.”
Dr. Margot Kusienski D.M.D., President of the Board of Trustees affirmed the significance of this unique grant. “We are incredibly grateful for the leadership and generosity of Cornerstone Dental Specialties for making this important funding available.”
Program Directors or Department Heads apply for the grant dollars on behalf of their residents. For more information or to apply please visit the Foundation for Endodontics webpage.
About the Foundation for Endodontics
Founded in 1966 as the philanthropic arm of the American Association of Endodontists, the Foundation for Endodontics (a 501(c)3 charity) encourages and raises capital investment necessary to sustain and further develop the specialty. Over the years, both its mission and activities have evolved into four areas: research, education, access to care and development. By focusing on these four concentrations, we assist members of AAE in the pursuit of excellence in their field and further our vision to support endodontists in their efforts to save natural teeth whenever possible. Throughout its fundraising activities, initiatives and strategic planning, we uphold our core values: integrity, accountability, responsiveness, innovative, collaborative and impactful. In 2019, your Foundation for Endodontics has committed over $1.5 million to research, education, and access to care. The Foundation supports every accredited endodontic program in the United States and Canada, and offers funding to educators, residents, and departments.
