CHICAGO – The American Association of Endodontists (AAE) released the September 2023 episode of its Endo Voices podcast.
In this eye-opening episode, Endo Voices welcomes the American Dental Association’s (ADA) chief economist, Dr. Marko Vujicic, to discuss key trends in dentistry, focusing specifically on the impact of the pandemic and workforce shortages. He highlights changes in the dental employment landscape and offers key statistics to support his points of view, such as the fact that 89.4% of dental school graduates are employed in clinical roles and 70% of dentists are under 44 years of age.
Regarding endodontic applications, Dr. Vujicic cited a 2023 report which stated that there were 297 applicants for endodontic residencies, a significant increase compared with previous years. Dr. Vujicic also explores the growing role of technology in dentistry and its potential to streamline workflows. The episode emphasizes the importance of understanding and adapting to these trends, but ultimately concludes with a palpable theme of optimism concerning the industry’s future. Tune in and feel inspired by what’s to come within the endodontic specialty and dentistry as a whole!
